Stakeholders’ engagement for EUCF project in Guimarães

Today we were in Guimarães for a Stakeholders’ Workshop, talking about the work that we have been developing with the Câmara Municipal de Guimarães for the “Low carbon Guimarães: Investing in Electrical Mobility and Renewable Energy Communities” programme.

This workshop was part of our consultation process which is one of the key steps in the development of the Investment Concept that is being developed with our support for the municipality’s energy transition path.

This is being done under the European City Facility (EUCF) funding scheme, one of the European Commission Horizon Europe projects. The EUCF funding scheme provides financial support to municipalities for the development of Investment Concepts that can support their goals for energy renewable and energy efficiency.

For Guimarães, this Investment Concept, linked with the “Low carbon Guimarães: Investing in Electrical Mobility and Renewable Energy Communities” programme has 4 main areas of focus:

– Smart and efficient public lighting
– Energy communities in industrial and residential areas
– Energy efficiency improvements in social housing buildings to fight energy poverty
– Promotion of sustainable mobility through an EcoPathway and expansion of the electric vehicles’ charging infrastructure

The event aimed to discuss the views of the stakeholders regarding the proposed measures and how they view their role in their implementation. Additionally, it aimed at discussing the best cooperative model so that all actors can be aligned in making Guimarães a greener and more efficient municipality.

The information collected during the consultation is crucial for the work we are developing. We are very grateful to everyone who participated and provided their insightful inputs.
